BTW, this is not completely random. Joe Boyd and his wife are former Apexers (the house church network we visited when we first moved out here). In fact, Joe is actually a pastor who has changed careers and is pursuing acting.
Appetizer Name something you think is “the best.” Fisher's Popcorn is the best snack food. Ever. Soup On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 highest), how stressed are you today? Today was a 9.8 all the way. Fortunately, I have a super-understanding husband who lets me vent and gives me time to get over myself. Yay Jon! Salad What kind of cleanser do you use to wash your face? Until one week ago, when my eyelids swelled up, it was ProActiv . Now I am using Neutrogena . Anyone want some Proactiv? I have two unopened cleansers, and one each of the toner and repairing lotion. Ugh... Main Course Tonight is a blue moon ! What is something that you believe only happens “once in a blue moon.” Once in a blue moon I can get one over on my husband. Maybe. He's pretty quick-witted. Dessert When was the last time it rained where you live? I don't remember, but it has been a couple months. This is the Mojave, after all. We are actually coming up on our "monsoon season" in ...
So Bank of America is offering a credit card for people with no SS number. The idea is to tap into the rapidly growing Hispanic market. Of course, Michelle Malkin is outraged and thinks I should be, too. But I am not, and this is why: 1) I would rather see BOA open accounts with no SS# than with fraudulent SS# (which is what we know is occurring now). 2) BOA is letting the market drive its decisions. A novel idea for a capitalist nation?! I have read comment after comment about aiding and abetting. I just to do not see it. Does that mean that the gas station on the corner which sells gasoline to the landscapers is aiding and abetting? After all, they may be hiring illegal immigrants. I love how, instead of outrage that we are seeing no results at whatever it is our tax dollars are going to, we take frustrations out on corporate America. I would much rather see these people putting their money into our banks than carrying it around in their pockets (which, incidentally is what...
My father-in-law is what some might call a NASCAR fan. We, on the other hand, have been known to put a race on for our afternoon nap. Something about the drone which helps us sleep. I like to watch the last few laps and the highlights (read: the wrecks). Those cars go, what 300-400 miles in any given race? Round and round and round. Really fast. It occurs to me that the slightest hesitation, the tiniest miscalculation could put a car into the wall. The drivers must trust their team to keep them and their cars in top shape. Ultimately, though, it doesn't matter how well put-together a machine is if the driver is not paying attention. I am thinking that my spiritual life is like that. (Not the round in circles part) I need a solid pit crew in my church family, but when it comes down to it, I have to take responsibility for my own spiritual growth. Becoming a part of Gracepoint has really brought this home for me. This weekend, we had the opportunity to reach out to the ...
