And now for something completely different...

It is no secret that I am not a fan of change. Someone once told me that most people who don't like change feel that way because we don't like to be inconvenienced. I am not even going to get into how many ways that is not the case for me. Suffice to say, I will put up with MAJOR inconvenience to avoid change!
Two weeks ago, I returned from a walk to find a realtor's business card attached to our front door with a note that read "Unit has been foreclosed on please call 498-xxxx." My first thought was about the poor grammar, but that's another post. So, I called the number and was advised that the owner of our condo had indeed defaulted on her mortgage and Countrywide was offering us relocation money and so forth. I was reeling and asked the very nice gentleman if I could call our property manager to verify everything; he agreed. The upshot is that our unit was foreclosed upon back in July, which means that the owner has probably been collecting rent since January, and we have until October 18th to find a new place to live.
Our marvelous (a little pun, because her name is Marva) Realtor took us around yesterday to look at several availabel properties, and we are hopng that our first choice is still available. It is a little two-bedroom house that is 2.5 miles from work. That is one-tenth the distance we are travelling right now! One tenth! Even though the rent is higher than what we are paying now, when we factor in gas savings of more that $220.00 per month, we will be ahead of the game. In fact, we will be far enough ahead of the game, that my future may contain something like this. I would have to bike to work every day to justify the expense, though.
As much as I hate the prospect of moving, I do hope that we get that little house. I tmakes all this packing a little easier to take!

I got really annoyed that my Feedburner wasn't picking up your blog so I came over to check and see if I had missed anything. Wow! What changes going on with you guys.

Biking to work is WAY fun. :) I just read that your move is today - so let Steve and I know if there is anything we can do to help.
